Personal Banker/Loan Support Location: Indianola Department: Indianola Reports to: President Positions Supervised: None Employee Classification: Temporary Regular Full Time Part-Time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Salary Hourly Exempt Commission Position Summary: The purpose of this job is to develop new business, structuring, and the closing of consumer loans, as well as maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio.
Provide administrative support to lender, assist lender with loan processing, gathering loan documentation, and collection of past due accounts, and provide assistance and service to assure customer satisfaction.

Essential Task Statement(s) Branch Credit/Ownership (80%) Takes loan applications.
Interviews applicants to develop information concerning their businesses, needs, desires, abilities, and earnings to determine whether a loan has acceptable risks.
Communicates decisions to applicants.
Determines loan structures and terms.
Closes loans.
Monitors an existing loan portfolio to ensure proper risk ratings and early identification of potential problems.
Manages past due accounts and collects loans that are not paying as agreed.
Participates with and assist senior loan officer in the servicing and administration of larger loans.
Obtains and analyzes financial data and provides service on approved lines of credit.
Follows current loans and lines of credit to ensure conformity with terms.
Contacts valued customers, thanks them for their business, and checks for any additional needs.
Consolidates old and new loans (thus increasing business with customer).
Provides administrative support to lender.
Assists lender with loan applications.
Research information to comply with HOEPA guidelines.
Assists lender in clearing loan documentation and policy exceptions.
Responsible for gathering loan documentation necessary to close a loan such as: credit bureau reports, flood certifications, census tracts, proof of hazard insurance and flood insurance when necessary, and all other required documentation.
Prepares title applications and exhibits for deeds of trust when necessary.
Responsible for verifying that all necessary information has been secured such as: ordering appraisals/evaluations, UCC searches, title opinions, and any other required information.
Enter consumer loans in Decision Pro.
Compiles all information and sends to CCA with closing instructions.
Prints completed loan package and verifies accuracy.
Prepares presentation package and tabs for customer signature.
Presents loan package to customer, answers inquiries, closes the loan, and disburses funds.
Responsible for balancing loan and preparing appropriate entries.
Scans entries and completed loan documents and sends to appropriate departments to be loaded into the system.
Completes HMDA forms, CRA forms, and Real Estate Review checklists when required.
Prepares reports as requested by lender such as past dues, maturing loans, and exception reports.
Assists lender in collecting past due accounts.
Prepares letters to customers (and others) as required to support the loan functions of the bank.
Performs other duties as necessary to keep the loan functions of the bank performing efficiently and effectively.
Responsible for completing assigned training such as BAI and staying current on any regulation/compliance/policy changes.
Research and resolve customer problems, acting as the customer liaison between other bank departments when necessary.
Research and answer customer inquiries.
Ensure bank is in compliance with federal banking regulations including, but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, Community Reinvestment Act, American with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the Federal Reserve’s “lettered” regulations, and Personal Banker/ Loan Support roles and responsibilities relating to each act.
Customer Service (10%) Represent Guaranty Bank & Trust Company professionally, efficiently, and tactfully Acknowledge and greet customers with a smile, call customer by their name, ask if they need any additional assistance, thank customer at end of every conversation Ensure continuing development of professional relationships with management and colleagues.
Follow all bank policies and procedures Answer and assist incoming callers with questions and requests, subsequently route callers, as appropriate.
Receive incoming bank visitors and assist in directing them appropriately.

Ability to work on Saturday rotation schedule.

Position Qualifications Education: Required – High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred – Post –secondary certificate or degree, experience will be considered.
Experience: Required – 1 to 2 years of experience in banking or related field.
Preferred – 3 to 5 years of experience in banking or a related area.
