*ABOUT THE JOB:* The Banquet Set-Up is responsible for properly setting up banquet and meeting space.
Ensuring a clean and sanitary front and back of the house.
Support banquet operation and provide service to internal customers such as Catering/Convention Services, Stewarding, Laundry, etc.
The Banquet Houseperson reports directly to the Food and Beverage Manager.
During your first few days of employment, you will receive important information regarding the performance requirements of your position, basic company policies, your compensation , plus other information necessary to acquaint you with your job and the company.
You will also be asked to complete an I-9 form and present the company with information establishing your identity and your eligibility to work in the United States in accordance with applicable federal laws.
*CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:* * Set up meeting rooms according to banquet event order forms and documents to ensure the set up meets guest expectations.
* Transport awkward and heavy materials such as staging, tables, chairs, dance floors, etc.
, from storage area to meeting rooms in a safe manner using proper equipment.
* Break down meeting rooms and return banquet items to the storage closet in a neat and organized fashion.
* Maintain an established cleaning schedule of meeting rooms and ballrooms ensuring rooms are presentable at all times.
* Respond to guest requests for service, changes in room set up and assist with information requests regarding other areas of the hotel.
* Handle guest complaints personally or if necessary seek assistance from the supervisor.
* Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
* Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
* Perform other duties as requested by management.
*REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES:* * Have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar position.
* Must be able to work all shifts including, AM's, PM's, weekends, and holidays.
* Have excellent communication and organization skills.
* Must be able to work in a high-pace and dynamic operation.
* Able to work together with other colleagues.
* Have a pleasant, friendly and helpful manner.
* Maintain a clean and healthy personal hygiene and grooming.
* Work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
* Able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
