Job Summary The Commercial Loan Officer II position is responsible for developing and managing a commercial loan portfolio in the state of Mississippi and will lead HOPE’s commercial lending expansion into the state.
This position is to be located in Jackson, MS and will serve the entire state of MS.
Primary and Essential Functions • Develop active referral network for identifying potential customers and co-lending partners in the state of Mississippi.
• Ensure that loan production targets are achieved.
• Work with prospects and internal staff to adequately assess risk of credit requests, present recommendations, and facilitate loan closings.
• Manage customer relationships, including facilitating required outside technical assistance (e.
g.
, accounting, management, marketing, engineering, etc.
), compliance with loan covenants, payment performance, annual financial reviews, and on-site collateral and business inspections.
• Manage assigned loan portfolio.
• Ensure all assigned loans are in compliance and properly documented.
• Market Hope Enterprise Corporation/Hope Federal Credit Union other financial products and services.
Secondary Functions • Perform general administrative duties such as attending meetings, report production, etc.
• Assist Special Assets Department as needed in addressing problem loans.
• Provide information required for investor reporting, as requested by the Investor Relations Department.
• Participate in community outreach efforts.
• Manage other assigned credits.
Competencies/Skills • Ability to market commercial financial products.
• Ability to network with other financial service providers for referrals and loan participations.
• Ability to read and interpret legal documentation as it pertains to corporate organization and loan documentation.
• Demonstrated strength in credit analysis, financial analysis, and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Strong computer skills, especially with financial spreadsheets and word processing.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and interpret data.
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to network with business and civic contacts and successfully convert community outreach efforts to commercial lending opportunities for HOPE.
