Coordinator – Dietetics and Nutrition Services
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four-year college or university in home economics, food, and nutrition, dietetics
Four years of experience as a home economics teacher, or in food service management, community nutrition or public health nutrition program or foodservice operation or equivalent experience
Licensed as a Registered Dietitian
Ability to direct, organize and provide guidance to the department staff

Executive Director of Child Nutrition and Operational Coordination with the Executive Director for Climate and Wellness

Job Goal
To coordinate and evaluate nutrition activities within the school district, coordinate and evaluate specialized programs such as menu selection for Special needs scholars, menu coordination for scholars with food allergies and sensitivities, and provide nutrition education for staff.
To provide each student with food of highly nutritious quality in an atmosphere of cleanliness and personal caring.
Essential Functions
Identifies scholars with special nutrition requirements and, working with parents and Child Nutrition specialists, designs menus to provide necessary nutrition within the constraints of the dietary restrictions.
Works with Executive Chef to design nutritious and unique menu offerings to increase nutrition intake, meal participation and consumption.
Inspects school facilities and operations regularly to ensure that standards of diet, cleanliness, health and safety are being maintained.
Assists principals and teachers in the instructional phases of the nutrition program and in the classroom instructional units of work pertaining to nutrition.
Prepares articles and educational material for parents and community to better support students with dietary restrictions and with financial limitations.
Plans and implements staff development programs for food service staff to keep them updated on regulations and procedural changes as they relate to the nutrition derived from various foods and menus.
Evaluate new products, works with vendors on sampling new products, and deliver food products.
and maintain up-to-date food service bid specifications.
Evaluate the performance of food service managers.
Provides assistance and suggestions for the preparation and serving of government USDA commodity foods to create maximum nutritional value in tasty wholesome menu offerings.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
