Job Summary:
The Associate Attorney will report directly to the Managing Partner of Evictions.
The Associate Attorney will work alongside the evictions support staff.
The candidate must be a licensed attorney in good standing with the State Bar of Mississippi.
Preference will be given to candidates who are also licensed in one or more of the following states (in addition to Mississippi): Georgia, Texas, or Alabama.
The ideal candidate should also have at least 1 year of litigation experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in evictions or other default related litigation.
For the right candidate a fully remote work environment may be considered.
A relocation assistance package may also be available for the right candidate to relocate to one of the three (3) cities listed above where the firm maintains offices.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Handle all aspects of eviction cases from cradle to grave.
Timely complete tasks and steps assigned to attorney in internal case management system.
Attend court hearings (when practical due to geographical location or remote hearing capabilities) on eviction cases.
Independently maintain schedule of hearings and court deadlines.
Prepare and review documentation, including, but not limited to, legally required letters and pleadings required to be filed in eviction cases.
Sign pleadings, at times before a notary public, to be filed in evictions cases.
Regularly update clients and provide legal advice as needed.
Communicate effectively, courteously, and professionally with clients, defendants, opposing counsel, judges, courthouse staff, law enforcement officers, and other outside parties.
Update and maintain both the clients’ case management systems as well as the Firm’s internal case management system.
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
Membership in the State Bar of Mississippi as a licensed attorney in good standing is required.
Additional membership in the State Bars of Georgia, Alabama, or Texas as a licensed attorney in good standing is preferred.
1-5 years of experience in eviction or other general litigation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Normal office working conditions, remote work is possible.
The noise level in the office work environment is quiet to moderate.
