*Job Summary* Mississippi Home Corporation (MHC) was created by the Mississippi Home Corporation act of 1989 to increase the quality and affordability of the housing stock available to low and moderate income Mississippians.
MHC plays a critical role in these efforts working with the Governor, the Mississippi Legislature, the U.
S.
Congressional delegation, and others in the affordable housing industry to develop private and public partnerships throughout the state and nation to increase the awareness of Mississippi’s desperate need for affordable housing.
MHC's mission is to enhance Mississippi’s long-term economic viability by financing safe, decent, affordable housing and helping working families build wealth.
MHC is currently seeking the ideal candidate to join our team as *Grants Compliance Monitoring Officer.
* The *Grants Compliance Monitoring Officer* contributes to fulfilling the mission and strategic operational goals of Mississippi Home Corporation by serving as part of a team that coordinates the successful administration of the Housing Trust Fund (HTF) and HUD Federal Programs (HOME: Homeowner Rehabilitation, Home of Your Own (HOYO), Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) and Home Rental).
The position is responsible for over compliance monitoring of assigned grants.
* Monitoring funded recipients for compliance with federal regulations including but not limited to eligible activities, environmental standards and program income.
* Performing affordability monitoring on previously awarded projects.
* *Performing physical building inspections.
Construction background a MUST.
* * Completing HOME Investment Partnership, Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO), and Housing Trust Fund (HTF) beneficiary data and activity accomplishment including compliance and reporting in IDIS.
* Gathering information from private and/or nonprofit developers electronically for annual rental compliance.
* Properly managing Section 3 reporting for HOME and HTF.
* Ensuring program compliance with internal, Statutory and Regulatory program requirements.
* Provide technical assistance and training to subrecipients on program requirements in workshops and seminars.
* Some travel required with minimal overnight trips.
* And other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications and Skills* All MHC Employees are required to maintain a valid driver's license and minimum automobile insurance coverage.

*Our ideal candidate has:* * 3+ years experience in program management, dealing with the interpretation and application of state and federal regulations * strong research and analytical skills * computer savvy with strong advanced database and Excel skills, a must * The ability to be an independent learner, who can take initiative and has a professional demeanor * Extreme attention to detail * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Experience with project development and negotiation, underwriting, tax credit financing, and familiarity with one or more of the following HUD programs: HOME Investment Partnership, ESG or HOPWA, a PLUS * Familiarity with HUD IDIS systems, a plus.
* Experienced in financial analysis of grant funded activities, a plus.
*Education Requirement* *:* Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Urban Studies, Public Administration, or a related field.
*AND* *Experience Requirement:* One (3) year experience grants administration/project management.
A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.
