ZA Construction, LLC is looking for an experienced Railway Tamper Operator.

*\*\* Applicant MUST HAVE previous experience operating a Tamper \*\**
* Operates Tamper in a safe manner to perform maintenance and construction activities in the installation, repair and rebuilding of track structure; including but not limited to tamping, leveling, lining, and aligning curves of railroad track
* Must be able to work alone in remote locations independently and with minimum supervision
* Inspects and maintains trucks and attached apparatuses such as hi-rail gear, tools, etc.
* Have a working knowledge of hydraulics/electronics.
* Performs preventative maintenance on heavy or specialized equipment.
* May perform labor duties as needed.
* Willingness to wear the proper and required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as hard hat, steel toed boots, eye and hearing protection and face shields and other PPE required for specific tasks.
* Follow DOT regulations; ensuring proper permits and driving regulations are followed.
* Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures.
* Ability to communicate well with co-workers, customers, and supervisors.
* Performs equipment safety and maintenance checks, making emergency adjustments as necessary.
* Takes actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Other duties as required.
*Physical Requirements:*
· Works at outside railroad construction sites.
* Uses hands to handle and control materials, tools and vehicle controls
* Sits for long periods of time in a closed vehicle.
* Uses repetitive motions.
* Uses close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
* Moves or lifts heavy equipment and objects up to 50 pounds.
* Uses eye-hand-foot coordination.
* Exposed to moving mechanical parts.
* Exposed to harsh weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather.
* Exposed to loud noise.
