Are you ready to shape the future with us? Job Description Responsible for machine related production items: i.
e.
, quality, machine setup, downtime (mechanical or electrical), training for all set –up techs, coordination with various departments for major maintenance, machine changes, auxiliary equipment, component supplies and machine modification, and implementation of MTC program.
Acts as liaison between Continental and Machine suppliers for improvements and all machines setup changes.
Manage a team of 9 setup technicians.
Defines frequency and procedures of and then coordinates all tooling maintenance.
When required, perform regular activities of a Set-up Technician.
Assist, coordinate, and implement suggestions from BT1 and BT2.
Manage department in accordance to POMS documented procedures for machine tolerances, quality and availability of machines.
• Must be advanced in Milexx and all cold prep setup functions.
• Utilize electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge to set-up, detect, adjust, and correct truck tire building and cold preparation equipment.
• Maintain Setup parts inventories and budget • Actively participate in problem solving projects as well as cost reduction projects.
• Supervise and audit building of first truck tires after set-up changes or adjustments to ensure set-up is to specification and approved for production.
• Fully understand design limitations of machines and how these interact with quality tolerances.
• Have conceptual knowledge of how mechanical adjustments effect composition and construction of the product.
• Maintain accurate daily records on each machine so that a history of all breakdowns, changes, adjustments, and other pertinent information is documented for reference.
• Effectively communicate with all setup techs on machine related events concerning setup related issues.
• Perform routine scheduled MTC checks and corrections.
• Define and establish best practices around tooling maintenance and overhauls.
• Maintain relationship with central engineering in order to drive innovation, define opportunities and provide accurate report of Milexx project realizations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Supervisor must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, crawl, climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, twist, and work above head level in extreme heat for long periods of time.
• Minimum lifting 50lbs and frequently carrying of 25 lbs.
• Work in a high heat environment • Work with frequent or as needed overtime.
• Work around moving machinery and the ability to use hand and power tools.
Qualifications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED 3+ years Tire Manufacturing Experience Strong leadership, people, and organizational skills Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization Strong problem-solving skills Computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Legal authorization to work in the U.
S.
is required.
