Summary
Position consists of general public works support through the summer season.
Upon hiring, candidate will be assigned to ground maintenance or other crews as needed.
Beginning May17th, the work day will be from 7:00am to 4:00pm with an hour for lunch.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Nature of Work: -
This is skilled work in the operation of light to medium automotive equipment and/or skilled manual work.
Work involved the operation of small trucks, riding power mowers, light tractors, medium size dump trucks, and similar automotive equipment requiring little or no technical training.
Operation of a variety of such equipment may be the predominate task of this class.
Work of this class may be predominately the performance of manual tasks of a skilled nature requiring special knowledge acquired through work performance.
Assignments may include the use of standard or specialized hand tools, power operated devices, or other equipment.
Assignments may be received in the form of specific orders or general instructions depending on the assignment.
Work may be performed without direct supervision after instructions are received.
Work is reviewed in progress and upon completion for conformance to established policies and procedures, and for accomplishment of desired results.

Performs skilled duties in several trades in the construction, alteration, maintenance, and repair of streets, sidewalks, recreational facilities, cemeteries, and buildings, may act as a crew leader on a crew working independently from the direct supervision of a superior in carrying out such duties.
Lays bricks, spreads aggregate, pours and finished concrete in the construction or repair of manholes, catch basins, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and spreads, levels and tamps asphalt.
Assists in the installation and maintenance of water lines, sewer lines and appurtenances.
Operates a truck in support of crews carrying out maintenance and repair work on streets, water lines, and storm and sanitary sewers, hauls asphalt, gravel, pipe, tools and similar material, transports personnel and materials to and from work sites, picks up supplies and runs various errands.
Operates riding power mover and tractor equipped with grass cutting attachments, operates controls on asphalt slurry machine.
Performs other duties as assigned.
