Expected Pay Range: $23.
25 to $26/hr Summary and Scope The Welder is responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials with precision.
The ideal candidate has a basic understanding of metal fabrication (plasma cutting, frame building, frame fitting, custom fabrication) and has received formal welding training, ideally leading to a credential.
Essential Functions Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures Operate the appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts Must be able to follow all safe work practices Weld in flat and vertical planes Grind or clean weld joint of work piece Fabricate new or replacement parts On the spot thinking and trouble shooting Other duties as assigned Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Skills and Specifications Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulation guidelines Read and interpret owner’s manuals, equipment schematics, and work orders.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability Ability to take direction and work well with a team Substantial knowledge of GMAW & GTAW welding processes Experience with carbon steel welding (GMAW) Steel/Aluminum welding Wrenching Fabrications with welding and layout Ability to speak, read, and write in English Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent, required 3-5 years’ proven welding experience, to include experience in industrial and/or commercial welding is required Welding certification (or other trade certifications) are desired OSHA 10 certification is desired Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb and stand.
Lifting of up to 75 lbs may occur.
Expected Hours of Work The ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends will be required based on contract needs.
It is expected for this position to attend regular meetings during typical work hours in Eastern Standard Time as well as meetings as needed for assigned projects in other time zones.
Work Environment This job operates in a workshop environment.
We operate 24/7/365, inside and outside, in all weather conditions.
This role routinely uses standard carpentry equipment and is required to use and wear standard PPE, which will be provided by the company.
There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally.
Travel This position requires up to 10% travel.
Travel is dependent on contract load.
The ability to travel to job sites and be away for extended periods of time based on contract needs is required.
Short notice travel is required with 24-48 hours’ notice.
Work Authorization Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and a background check upon accepting a conditional offer of employment.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Have/maintain a clean driving record.
