As a Manufacturing Engineer – Laser Specialist:
What you will do:
Support and strive towards safe operations in all facets of the manufacturing facility.
Plans and executes the overall laser cutting strategy by studying production plans, part models/drawings, materials, specifications, and machine parameters.
Improves machine throughput and uptime using a data-driven approach.
Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, inspect, and validate laser cutting equipment.
Collaborate with the plant staff and outside vendors regarding installations, upgrades, modifications, repairs, and spare or emergency parts.
Perform equipment failure analysis and work with a team to develop a preventive or predictive maintenance solution.
Initiate projects and develop cost estimates with supporting data for financial justification.
Develop and lead training sessions for operators and maintenance technicians.
Create and maintain technical documentation including work instructions, procedures, troubleshooting guides, and maintenance tasks.
Other assignments as deemed appropriate by the manager.
Additional Qualifications Include:
Associate degree in a technical discipline required.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other related technical discipline preferred.
5+ years related industrial work experience.
Exposure to CNC equipment and/or controls in a machining or metal fabrication environment required.
Industrial laser-cutting knowledge or experience preferred.
Knowledge of industrial machine controls and automation including the following: solid-state circuitry, electronics, robotics, electrical-mechanical devices, motors/drives, wiring diagrams and schematics, computers, etc.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Products: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Experience using Microsoft Project, AutoCAD 2D.

Physical Demand & Work Environment:
During a typical 8-hour shift, up to two-thirds of the day will require standing, walking, or sitting.
Required to occasionally reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Always have the ability to hear and talk.
Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include color and peripheral vision, close vision, and distance vision.
Must have depth perception to judge spatial relationships.
During a typical 8-hour shift, exposure to mechanical and moving parts is frequent.
Exposure to fumes and airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions is occasional.
Exposure to moderate noise at times is occasional.
