This position is a dual role in the EHS & Maintenance Department in Richland, MS working with the EHS / Facilities-Maintenance Manager.
The Safety / Maintenance Engineer will support the EHS Specialist, EHS Manager, and Maintenance department.
The position is accountable for ensuring processes are free from hazards through the development and implementation of equipment and systems that support reduce the risk to employees performing related activities.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Supporting production departments by perform safety audits and ongoing safety inspections.
Train and support employees on various systems, tools, and processes.
Ensuring safety notifications are completed in a timely fashion.
Ensuring all have a corrective action plan completed quickly by those responsible.
Work with department supervisors and managers on corrective action plans to bring them up to higher standards, reduce hazards, and improve performance.
Ensuring containment activities are performed when a hazard is discovered to prevent repeat issues.
Assist with the investigation of near misses and corrective actions.
Ensure hazards are contained in the event of an injury.
Support Operational Excellence Team by providing feedback to safety and maintenance aspects of improvement projects.
Ensuring safety alerts are completed and issued to department supervisors in a timely fashion.
Lead the Management of Change Program to ensure that all changes (physical & process changes) are fully reviewed for any safety or maintenance risks.
Assist Maintenance Supervisor with developing long term plans for ensuring equipment reliability.
Assist Maintenance Supervisor with management of spare part's inventory.
Assist Operational Excellence and Manufacturing Engineering Teams when designing, selecting, and installing equipment.
Work with Design Engineering Teams to reduce ergonomic risks related to the design of product.
Lead Contractors with respect to the Contractor Safety Program and ensure safe work performed by contractors during projects.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans and procedures to ensure that equipment is maintained efficiently and optimally.
Prepare reports for monthly KPI reporting.
Assist with Facilities Projects.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
Three or more years of experience Quality, Maintenance, or EHS related role
Basic knowledge of how to read and understand electrical schematic drawings and 2D AutoCAD
drawings.
Proficient with MS-Office applications.
Experience with or knowledge of ISO 9001,14001, and 45001 audits preferred
Basic knowledge of energy products preferred
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills and capability to promote new ideas and
products.
Team oriented personality who can also work independently.
Good analytical skills, root cause analysis skills, time management skills, be self-motivated and
self-directing and ability to proceed with minimal direction and information
Proactive at executing daily tasks and achieving long-term goals.
Ability to travel domestic and worldwide as needed.
