Position Summary: The Network Administrator I support all functional areas of the organization in alignment with the plant business objectives.
Under direct supervision this position assists with routine IT operations, low level problem resolution of computing and/or communications functions and ensuring the cyber security of information systems.
This role performs work in technical support areas, applications development, computer operations, help desk, data management, and computer hardware/software including inventory and replacement.
Assists in the implementation of new technology to maximize plant efficiency.
Working at a plant, the incumbent will build relationships with plant management and the direct Regional IT Lead as their supervisor.
The incumbent will serve as a liaison between Corporate IT and manufacturing facilities and will ensure that plant IT initiatives align with USG IT standards and priorities.
The unique combination of skills associated with this position, as well as on-the-job training, will provide for growth and potential advancement within the IT organization.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities: Assist with computer hardware repairs and installation of approved software on PCs.
Provide help desk, analytical and technical support by performing maintenance, expanding functionality, and improving performance of hardware and software tools used.
Provide computer/network equipment asset inventory through data entry and maintenance of assets including equipment installation, disposal, processing, and tracking.
Assist in the implementation of IT and cyber security policies, procedures, standards and system documentation development and maintenance.
Assist on various special projects and tasks as well as coordinating meetings.
Perform media and equipment scans.
Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Qualifications & Requirements: Education: Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; or significant work experience and certifications.
Experience/Requirements: One – five years in IT support or similar capacity with the ability to support: Windows, Desktop, Networking, Data/Voice.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively, strong customer service skills.
Must be self-directed and able to work independently.
Proven project management skills.
Able to learn new technology as needed to meet the requirements of the position.
Must be willing to work at plant location.
Certifications Preferred: A+ PC Technician.
Network+ PC Technician.
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS).
Microsoft Certified IT Professional - Server Administrator (MCITP).
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
